JET-LUBES’s GEAR GUARD is a paste-like, viscous lubricant for reducing friction and wear. It is a heavy-duty compound, specially prepared to penetrate pores of metal, with exceptional “stay-put” characteristics. It provides maximum lubrication and shock-load protection, reduces gear noise, lubricates, prevents scoring, spalling or welding of the gear teeth. Assures a smooth, long-lasting, economical and effective coating. Its black color guides proper coverage, allowing easy touch up. It does not have to be heated. GEAR GUARD resists heat and pressure, will not wash or wear off because of weather, and will not break down after repeated working. It contains rust-preventing additives and is moisture resistant, displacing water. Avoid over lubrication as it can result is issues.

- GEAR GUARD contains no VOCs nor Ozone depleting solvents. The ingredient, molybdenum disulfide (MoS2), used in GEAR GUARD, is twice as “slippery” as graphite, has an affinity for ferrous metals, and bonds itself to steel working surfaces. MoS2 protects working surfaces from frictional wear, reduces fret-corrosion, and will sustain lubrication when the film of a conventional lubricant has been displaced for any reason.
